Restylane, a non-animal, non-human manufactured form of stabilized hyaluronic acid, has been used for facial enhancement in Europe for year. This clear gel filling material can treat wrinkles and lines and can be used for facial contouring and lip enhancement. Hyaluronic acid is an important structural element in the skin that occurs naturally in living organisms. There is far less allergic reactions associated with Restylane than with collagen and other filler. No skin testing is required and results typically
last two to three times longer than collagen treatments.
